This might lead you to forget to check on your belongings and one of those essentials is a passport. There is no denying the fact that lost or stolen passports are a lot more common than you think, and this can happen to most experienced travelers.

Once you notice that your passport is misplaced or lost, you start to panic. You probably have no idea what you really need to do, and you start having bad thoughts. In this post, we’ll talk about the tips that will help you replace your missing passport in no time. Let’s talk about them in detail.

 1. Report To the Nearest Police Station: Absolutely, when you notice that your passport’s misplaced, the very first thing you should do is head over to the nearest police station and file a complaint. If your passport was stolen, this procedure protects you if anyone tries to misuse your passport. Then, you will be given a report which will describe the way in which your passport was misplaced.

2. Contact Your Country’s Embassy: Once you went to the nearest police station and obtained your police report, the next thing to do is head over to your country’s embassy. At the embassy, you’ll need to report one more time that your passport’s missing or been stolen, and make sure that you show them with your official police report.

It’s quite important that you tell the embassy when you intend to leave the country, so they’ll obtain a temporary emergency travel document to help you travel and reach your destination safely.
